These terms cover your use of the KitchenWise app and website. By using KitchenWise, you agree to them.
Using the app
You need to be at least 13 years old. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your password to yourself. Don't use the app to break the law, to attack or overload the service, or to scrape or resell its data.
Your content
What you put into KitchenWise — your kitchen contents, notes, saved recipes — stays yours. You give us permission to store and process it only so far as running the service requires.
Free tier and subscriptions
KitchenWise is free to use, with monthly limits on the features that cost us money to run: assistant messages, barcode scans and receipt scans. The current limits are shown in the app. A premium subscription removes them.
- Subscriptions are billed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, not by us. We never see your card.
- They renew automatically until you cancel, and cancellation is done in your Apple or Google account settings.
- Refunds are handled under Apple's and Google's policies. We can't issue them directly, but tell us if something went wrong and we'll help you sort it out.
- If prices change, we'll tell you before it affects you.
The assistant, and getting things wrong
Expiry dates, shelf lives and assistant answers are estimates and suggestions, not food-safety guarantees. Storage conditions vary and software makes mistakes. Use your own judgement — look at the food, smell it, and when in doubt, throw it out. KitchenWise is not responsible for illness or loss resulting from relying on it.
Nutrition and allergen information comes from public product databases and may be incomplete or out of date. If you have an allergy, always check the actual packaging.
Availability
We aim to keep KitchenWise running, but we don't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service entirely, we'll give you reasonable notice and a way to export your data.
Ending your use
You can stop and delete your account any time. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or break these terms.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, KitchenWise is provided "as is", and our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date above shows the last change, and we'll flag significant changes in the app.
